Bal Varg |
- Between 5 to 7 years.
- No knowledge of Marathi required.

- Learn 150 vocabulary words used every day. Be able to construct simple sentences using vocabulary words.
- Be able to describe oneself and one's family in 5 sentences.
- Be able to tell simple stories.
- Be able to sing poems/songs.
- Be able to participate in group activities and games involving Marathi words and conversations.
- Introduction to Marathi letters. Not necessary to be able to write them all.

Pahili Varg |
- At least 7 years old. (This class will be divided into two - one for students under 10 and another
for 10 and above.)
- Must understand Marathi conversation.
- Be able to construct simple sentences.

- Learn 150 site and vocabulary words (over and above the words for K).
Be able to construct simple sentences using vocabulary words.
- Introduction to Marathi pronunciation and diction.
- Be able to talk about a topic of interest in about 10 sentences.
- Be able to tell simple stories.
- Be able to recite poems.
- Be able to participate in group activities and games involving Marathi words and conversations.
- Be able to read and write simple passages. Expected level of difficulty is Bal-Bharati Grade 1 book.
- Introduction to Marathi grammar. Use of gender, singular/plural and tense.

Dusari Varg |
- At least 7 years old.
- Must understand Marathi conversation.
- Be able to speak 5-10 simple sentences about a day-to-day discussion topic.
- Be able to read and write simple passages.

- Learn 150 vocabulary words (over and above the words for grade 1).
Be able to construct sentences using vocabulary words.
- Fluent in Marathi pronunciation.
- Be able to talk extempore about a topic of interest in about 20 sentences.
- Be able to recite poems.
- Be able to debate for and against a topic.
- Be able to participate in group activities and games involving Marathi words and conversations.
- Be able to read and write passages. Expected level of difficulty is Bal-Bharati Grade 2 book.
- Further understanding of Marathi grammar. Understand pratyaya, introduction to diction, root words etc.

Tisari Varg |
- At least 10 years old.
- Must understand Marathi conversation.
- Be able to speak 5-10 simple sentences about a day-to-day discussion topic.
- Be able to read and write simple passages.
- Must have completed the Marathi Dusari course or equivalent.

- Learn 200 vocabulary words (over and above the words for grade 2).
Be able to construct sentences using vocabulary words.
- Fluent in Marathi pronunciation.
- Be able to talk extempore about a topic of interest in about 20 sentences.
- Be able to recite poems.
- Be able to debate for and against a topic.
- Be able to participate in group activities and games involving Marathi words and conversations.
- Be able to read and write passages. Expected level of difficulty is Bal-Bharati Grade 3 book.
- Further understanding of Marathi grammar.
